Quote from William Blake.

Harvest time.....Michaelmas
Simultaneously when we are bringing our harvest in and finding storage for apples, potatoes, and more, we too feel an increased notion to seek warmth and rest inside our homes. It does now seem a long time ago when we saw blossoms on fruit trees and when we may have carefully planted seeds into the ground alongside our hopes and eagerness for them to grow.
Much in our lives has happened between those two activities.....some yield will have carried beyond our expectation another may not have flourished....
Time and outer circumstances had been at work, shaping, cooking and ripening our efforts whilst we got on with the summer almost forgetting about the process. We have learned through repletion that we cannot force this process....instead we do better with allowing patience and offering loving care.
I believe that simultaneously when gathering our produce from outside we could equally take some time in contemplation to sit with the ideas we had planted at the beginning of 2024. Oftentimes, we might forget to harvest and acknowledge our aspirations and ideas that we had set out to do or bring. To my mind it is vital to 'gather our fruits', express gratitude, reflect on achievements and behold a further ripening process through tough times we may have experienced. These 'fruits' can be much richer when we meditate or ponder on it. Of course any growth will have asked us for patience and loving kindness to ourselves, what we are keen to offer our plants as well.
