What ARE the benefits of craniosacral therapy (CST)?
Benefits of CST are now becoming widely known all over the world as more people have access to qualified practitioners. Key factors of the treatment are listening to and sensing the fluid flow of the liquid called craniosacral fluid (CSF). This fluid is packed full of vital nutrients and flows between the meninges around our brain and spinal cord. CSF thus supports the health of our most important governing systems. In each session I listen to the fluid flow within your body. It tells me so much about what is going on and where your system would like to be supported during each session. I learn of its potency, feel areas of free-flow or restrictions, compressions or balance, tension and holdings and much more. I like working in 75-minute sessions, this allows the body to fully relax, come out of its "shell" in order to communicate with me patterns and restrictions. At this point in a session, I am in service to the wisdom of your body. Your body knows how to heal, and I am lending my hands to be shown where on the body to work next. Studies have shown that the craniosacral fluid is renewed much faster after a CST session and this in itself has so many benefits; among them fostering clarity, assisting in de-cluttering our nervous system whilst fresh nutrients are washing over important glands in the brain such as the pineal gland. Dr McGarey, a 103-year old retired doctor, had been asked about the secrets of her longevity.......she mentions six factors among them weekly craniosacral sessions... (check this out at around the 5-minute 55 seconds mark) in the video below.
